Celebrate the Year of the Ox - Take Caltrain to The City

Avoid freeway traffic, crowded city streets and expensive parking by taking Caltrain to the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco Saturday, Feb. 7.

A San Francisco tradition since just after the Gold Rush, the Lunar New Year parade continues to delight the hundreds of thousands of people who come to watch it. The parade features gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers and the newly crowned Miss Chinatown.

From the San Francisco Caltrain Station, take either Muni lines 30 or 45, which stop across from the train station on Townsend Street or take the Muni N Judah on King and 4th streets or T-Third on 4th and King streets.

Caltrain offers hourly service on the weekends. The last Saturday train leaves San Francisco at 12:01 a.m. and makes all weekend local stops to San Jose.
