Caltrain Takes Baseball Fans to San Francisco Giants Games

Seasoned San Francisco Giants fans will be hopping on board Caltrain Tuesday, April 7, for the first home game of the season against the Milwaukee Brewers. AT&T Park is just one block from Caltrain’s San Francisco terminal at Fourth and King streets.

For the opening day game, which starts at 1:05 p.m., a special train will depart from the San Jose Diridon Station at 9:56 a.m., making all regular local stops to San Bruno before expressing the rest of the way to San Francisco.

After evening and weekend games, two special trains depart San Francisco for the return trip. An express train to San Carlos leaves approximately 15 minutes after the last out, or when full, and then makes all locals stops after San Carlos to San Jose Diridon station.

The second train departs San Francisco 25 minutes after the game, or when full, and serves all local stops to San Jose Diridon. On nights with post-game fireworks shows, such as the 7:15 p.m. game April 8, the express and local trains depart approximately 15 and 25 minutes, respectively, after the fireworks or when full.

Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that alcohol is not allowed on game day trains beginning at 9 p.m.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the San Francisco or San Jose ticket offices. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass.
