Caltrain Kicks Off California Redwoods Premier Season
The premier season of the United Football League gives Bay Area sports fans another reason to take Caltrain to AT&T Park. The California Redwoods will kick off their first home game at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, under the leadership of former Minnesota Viking and Stanford Cardinal Coach Dennis Green.
The newly-formed league plans to take advantage of the pool of really good football players who do not fit into National Football League and provide quality football at affordable prices. The average ticket price at AT&T Park is $20.
Caltrain offers hourly service from the Peninsula to San Francisco on Saturdays. From the Caltrain terminal at Fourth and King streets, it’s a one-block walk to AT&T Park.
Caltrain reminds fans to drink responsibly and to remember that alcohol is not allowed on game day trains beginning at 9 p.m.
Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the San Jose ticket office. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass.
