San Bruno Grade Separation Project

Day work, which includes digging with a backhoe and mini-excavator, will be done in the from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Crews will excavate, grade, install utility infrastructure, install shoring, place concrete panels using a crane, and pour concrete. Crews will use medium and heavy duty diesel vehicles to transport dirt and concrete.

Night work will occur from Sunday, Aug. 26, through Friday, Aug. 31, between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Crews will operate machinery to vibrate steel supports from the ground, and will use a crane to place concrete panels.

The $147 million project will elevate the Caltrain tracks above three existing at-grade street crossings at San Bruno, San Mateo and Angus Avenues. A new elevated Caltrain station between San Bruno and San Mateo Avenues will replace the station at Sylvan Avenue.

Maintenance

Caltrain will perform routine maintenance at several locations next week. To avoid delays to passengers, the work will take place Saturday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will be some construction noise but crews will work as quietly as possible. San Francisco to San Jose
Saturday, Aug. 25, through Friday, Aug. 31, crews will powerwash and perform janitorial work at Caltrain stations between the San Francisco and Tamien stations.

San Francisco to South San Francisco
Sunday, Aug. 26, crews will weld and grind tracks between the San Francisco and South San Francisco stations.

Mountain View to Santa Clara
Sunday, Aug. 26, through Thursday, Aug. 30, crews will operate medium duty on-track machinery to grind and align tracks between the Mountain View and Santa Clara stations.

Lawrence to Santa Clara
Sunday, Aug. 26, through Thursday, Aug. 30, crews will operate medium duty on-track machinery to remove and replace ties between the Lawrence and Santa Clara stations.

San Francisco to San Bruno
Monday, Aug. 27, through Tuesday, Aug. 28, crews will weld and grind tracks between the Bayshore and San Bruno stations.

Millbrae to San Mateo
Wednesday, Aug. 29, through Thursday, Aug. 30, crews will weld and grind tracks between the Millbrae and Hayward Park stations.
