Caltrain Apologizes for Morning Delays
Caltrain is distributing a written apology to riders inconvenienced by delays during the morning commute. The “seat drop” will be printed and distributed on morning commute-hour trains. The apology reads as follows:
On the morning of Thursday, July 29, Caltrain experienced two unrelated mechanical problems on trains 102 and 314 that significantly disrupted service. Passengers were transferred from these trains to other trains which were single-tracked around the disabled trains.
Unfortunately, these events caused a cascade of delays that affected our northbound and southbound commuters throughout the rest of the morning rush hour.
Caltrain crew and staff apologize to you for any inconvenience you experienced.
We want to assure our customers that we will work diligently on preventing such problems and meeting your expectations for on-time service.
Service was restored by mid-day. The special Giants train left the San Jose Diridon station at 9:56 a.m., its regularly scheduled time.
