Caltrain Adjusts Service to Meet Time Change for Oct. 2 Giants Game

Caltrain will adjust its service to the Giants game against the San Diego Padres Saturday, Oct. 2, to meet the just-announced 1:10 p.m. game time.

A special train will depart the San Jose Diridon Station at 10:30 a.m., making all regular local stops to San Francisco. Caltrain offers hourly service on weekends.

After the game, two special trains will depart San Francisco for the return trip. An express train to San Carlos will leave approximately 15 minutes after the last out, or when full, and then makes all locals stops after San Carlos to San Jose Diridon station.

The second train will depart San Francisco 25 minutes after the game, or when full, and serves all local stops to San Jose Diridon.

Baseball fans will have plenty of company on the trains as Stanford University freshman head to San Francisco on their annual scavenger hunt and music fans head to The City for a bluegrass concert. With limited equipment and crew resources available, Caltrain wants customers know that it may be a bit cozy.

Caltrain is a proof-of-payment system; tickets are not sold onboard trains but can be purchased at vending machines at the stations or at the San Francisco or San Jose ticket offices. To save time on the return trip, fans are encouraged to buy a Day Pass.
