MOU with High Speed Rail on Electrification

Caltrain is among a number of regional transportation agencies, cities and public organizations that would be party to an MOU between the San Francisco Bay Area and High Speed Rail that would enable us to leverage local, regional and federal funding to match High Speed Rail money that would advance Caltrain's electrification and advance signaling systems (PTC/CBOSS) projects.

The agreement, which must be endorsed by all parties, would allow Caltrain to begin running electric trains by 2020.  Supporters across the Bay Area have come forward to voice their approval for the effort.
